ABOUT US

Founded in 2016 as a non-disbursement not-for-profit cooperative to provide Broken Hill and the region with a bookshop, Under the Silver Tree Cooperative Bookshop works to provide our region with opportunities to engage in reading and writing through, among other things, our donation program and writing competitions.

We are staffed largely by volunteers and have a membership base of over 70. New members are always welcome. The Board is currently comprised of Jean Farry (President), Karen Underwood (Treasurer), Cathy Farry (Secretary), Kathy Graham and Linda Francis.

The bookshop stocks second hand books that are donated by the community as well as new books that are of local interest. We donate books to other organisations such as preschools, schools and other charity organisations.

Under the Silver Tree Cooperative Bookshop is always looking for volunteers to help out in the bookshop. Drop-in or call and talk to us about how to become a volunteer.
